Shipping
The shipping cost shown at checkout is an estimate. If it seems unreasonable (for example, you order a camera strap and receive a quote fit for shipping a piano!), please go ahead and place your order, then contact us by email or phone. We'll sort it out for you.
- If you choose the Standard option, we will ship via Canada Post Expedited Parcel, Purolator Ground, FedEx Express Saver or UPS Standard, at our discretion.
- If you choose the Express Service option, we may use Canada Post ExpressPost, Purolator Express, FedEx 2 Day, FedEx Overnight or UPS Expedited, again at our discretion.
If you have a preferred carrier, please mention it in the comments. We’ll let you know if there’s a difference in the shipping cost before proceeding.
Standard shipping is free on orders of $390 or more.
Shipping & Delivery Liability Disclaimer
Once a tracking number has been issued to you and the package has been collected by the carrier, Camtec Photo's responsibility for the shipment is considered fulfilled. Camtec Photo shall bear no liability for any delays, loss, theft, or damage occurring during transit. Any claims or grievances arising from the delivery process (including delays in transit, lost packages or damaged goods caused during shipping) must be addressed directly by the customer with the carrier responsible for the shipment. That said, we won't leave you on your own. If something goes wrong with your delivery, contact us and we'll help you file a claim with the carrier and follow up until it's resolved.
Customers who wish to purchase shipping insurance for their order are encouraged to contact us prior to shipment, and we will be happy to assist them in arranging coverage.
By placing an order with Camtec Photo, you acknowledge and agree to these shipping terms.
Return Policy
As a small, independent store, we are unable to return opened or used items to our distributors as large retailers do. However, we invest significant time and care in helping you choose the product that best suits your needs. If you change your mind, here are our refund terms:
New Items
- Sealed items may be returned within three days of purchase for a full refund.
- Opened or tested items may also be returned within that period, but a minimum 15% restocking fee will apply, depending on the condition of the item and its packaging.
- Original shipping charges and return costs are non-refundable and remain the customer's responsibility.
- To preserve the quality of our inventory, we may refuse a return if the item or its packaging is not in satisfactory condition.
Exchanges
We’ll always do our best to find a mutually agreeable solution.
Used Items
- Return within three days: full refund subject to inspection, excluding shipping costs.
- Between three and seven days: a 15% restocking fee will apply. Our actual shipping costs are also deducted from the refund, including when initial delivery was offered free of charge.
- Beyond this period, we are no longer obligated to accept returns, but we invite you to reach out: every case is different, and we will do our best to find a solution.
Media
Memory cards, film and other media are non-refundable. In the event of a defective product, the manufacturer's warranty will be honoured and we will assist you diligently throughout the claims process.
Online Orders
- All orders remain subject to product availability. Some items listed on our site may be temporarily out of stock, either at our store or with our distributors. Should this occur, we will notify you promptly and, whenever possible, suggest an equivalent alternative. If no suitable solution can be found, the order will be cancelled and fully refunded.
- Our team takes great care to ensure that displayed prices are accurate, but errors can occasionally occur. In such rare cases, we will place the order on hold and contact you to agree on an adjusted price, often accompanied by a discount to acknowledge the inconvenience. If no reasonable agreement can be reached, we may unfortunately have to cancel the order and issue a full refund. As a small business, some errors exceed what we can reasonably absorb, and we sincerely thank you for your understanding.
- Orders paid by credit card are subject to a routine verification. Should this verification prove inconclusive, we may need to place the order on hold or suggest an alternative payment method, such as a bank transfer or Interac e-Transfer. This precaution is intended to protect both our customers and our business.
Our In-Store Prices
Most of our products are displayed behind the counter or in showcases, and our advisors will be happy to provide you with the current price at the time of your visit. This approach allows us to reflect ongoing manufacturer promotions and offer our customers up-to-date pricing. Please don't hesitate to ask, even out of simple curiosity.
As with any business, an error may occasionally occur. Should that happen, we will take the time to discuss the situation with you and work out a fair solution. We are a small team that values trust and long-term relationships with our customers.
