Description
Ned Bojic is a Montreal-based photographer, photographer in the truest and most dedicated sense of the word. Long before "street photography" became a widely discussed genre, you could find Ned wandering the streets—wherever he happened to be—armed with his trusty Leica film camera, capturing the essence of urban life. He uses his photography to delve into, explore, and sometimes reinterpret the unfolding scenes around him. As a keen observer of human nature, he has a talent for revealing both the beauty and the intrigue of everyday moments.
We are thrilled to feature two recent books that he recently self-published. Both are pertinent and full of strong images.
FLAMMA:
Western life, as vivid and challenging as it may be, comes with struggles and the daily grind. It also instills a state of mind primarily occupied by trivialities and stiffness, where tomorrow must be gained and present living is replaced by the act of acquiring. A delusional, never-ending race with a finish line well tucked into the abyss.
Such is life, we say.
And as a result, a few questions arise... Why is life getting simpler the more we tend towards the tropics?
And why, as we progressively rove away from the endless summer, do we also slowly wander away from the essence of life?
Undoubtedly, the caring sun is magical for humankind.
Somehow, it pulls us into a mindful existence where the human connection becomes a necessity, entangling compassion and joy.
I present to you my enthralling pilgrimage to witnessing life, from Rio de Janeiro's infinite euphoria, hedonistic culture driven to absolute madness, and its joie de vivre, through Miami's sheer embodyment of cosmopol-itanism, luxuriance, and lust, to Cuba's indomitable soul and genuine people.
FLAMMA, the irresistible lightness of living.
