In 2004 Leica Camera AG produced this beautiful ensemble to celebrate and commemorate the 125th anniversary of Oskar Barnack, the designer of the first 35mm Leica camera.
This ensemble comes complete with original box, papers and accessories. It is in near mint condition. Camera and Lens are in perfect working order. Only the bottom plate of the camera shows very small marks
This historic jubilee set is a replica of the 0-series "Prototype 2" Barnack camera. True-to-detail, this new version can be used and enjoyed to create very unique and personal images, in black and white and even color, thanks to the modern coatings applied to the elements of the Leitz Anastigmat 50mm F3.5. The results can be compared to a modern era Summicron! A special attention is needed to load the film and use this camera, for the functions are not the same as the Leica cameras that came in later years
If you want to experience what Oscar Barnack did as he walked the streets of Wetzlar with his new invention and photographed the daily life of the city, and the home of Leica and of the Leitz family, nothing can get you closer.
