Description
The new Leica Summilux-M 21 mm f/1.4 ASPH is the fastest rangefinder lens at this focal length. The outstanding image quality, very large image angles and compact dimensions make it a particularly versatile performer. When used wide open, a shallow depth of field can be maintained. In this circumstance, at close distances the main subject is separated effectively from the background to create very expressive images. At a medium stop, entire scenes are reproduced sharply. Because of the floating element, the very high resolution is retained even when close focused. Vignetting and distortion are both well corrected for a lens of this speed.
