This lens from a 2012 production, still in excellent condition, served his owner very well. Wanting the close focus ability, he traded his lens for the new version so he could use it on his M11 and SL2. Optical elements are perfect, focus and aperture rings are firm and precise. Only some minors signs of use and handling on the exterior.

The Brass-Core silver finish construction of this Ultimate 50mm adds weight, stability and a classic timeless look to this Must-Have Summilux.

The new Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH supersedes a lens with the same speed that, notwithstanding a few minor modifications, had been part of the M lineup since 1962. The goal of this new lens is to create a benchmark that redefines the boundaries of photography with a standard focal length. The Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH succeeds in spades! It delivers virtually the same outstanding performance throughout all apertures and focus settings. Whether using selective focus at close range or in contrasty available light, or an extended depth of field to capture landscapes, the 50mm f/1.4 ASPH handles every situation with ease. Every innovation currently available in lens technology – aspherical lenses, glass with anomalous partial dispersion, glass with a high refraction index and a floating element – has been combined to create a lens that sets the new standard in this focal length class.
